My Story
I am a multimedia journalist reporter for WJTV 12 News in Jackson, Mississippi. During these eleven months I've covered a wide array of stories including breaking news, in-depth, investigative, politics, sports, and weather.

For the month of May, I've done in-depth reports on the state of the Mississippi economy looking at where the jobs are along with which industries are thriving.

The City of Jackson found themselves in a garbage debacle after not getting a garbage contract signed in April 2023 which left residents without garbage collection for 17 days. I started following the story when I got to WJTV while the city was in the middle of an emergency contract and covered it until city council voted on a new contract in March.

My first live shot involved covering the major Hinds County ransomware attack. I covered this for almost three weeks when Hinds County's services were restored. This also prevented residents from renewing car tags and other services.
I'm from Weatherford, Texas and obtained a Master of Arts in Journalism from Ole Miss. My experiences at Ole Miss shaped me into a well-rounded journalist over two years. Many doors were opened and led to invaluable experience in multimedia, associate producing Ole Miss baseball and softball with our SEC Network crew, writing print stories, video stories, and managing multiple social media channels, and covering Ole Miss athletics as a sports reporter. I also traveled to Italy as a graduate assistant with the School of Journalism and New Media.

I have a passion for storytelling and aspire to help others tell their story. Everyone has a story that is unique and here you will also find personal experiences from my journey through graduate school. I hope you enjoy the journey and adventure of navigating your way from story to story!
